5 Months Old!

I can't believe Hailey is 5 months old already. Hailey has had a very busy month. Grandma Susan came to visit from Arizona. Hailey got to celebrate her first Easter. I took Hailey to her 1st PTA meeting at Foster and she got to spend some time with her friends Emily and Molly. Hailey got to meet her Grandpa Mike for the very first time this month also. We also went to Tyler to see Aunt Michelle, Uncle Kevin and Cousin Grant.

Hailey is not sleeping through the night yet. Since she has learned how to flip over onto her tummy, I had to by her a sleep positioner to keep her on her back at night. It worked for a few weeks. Now I usually find her out of the positioner, on her side, or on her tummy with the positioner on the other side of her crib. She is trying really hard to sit up. When she is on her tummy, she tries to get her knees under her body. She is definitely trying to crawl. Grant let us borrow his exersaucer and Hailey just loves it.

Camden and Grayden's 2nd Birthday

Yesterday we went to Country Critters Farm to celebrate Camden and Grayden's 2nd birthday. Hailey got to sit on the Easter Bunny's lap and get her picture taken. She really enjoyed looking at all the animals. We saw sheep, goats, pigs, ponies, and a donkey. Hailey had a great time. Here are some pictures.

4 Month Check Up

Hailey went to the doctors today. She now weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces and is 24 1/2 inches long. Matt took Hailey to the doctors and I met them there. I am thankful there is always a wait. Her appointment was at 11:10 and I took a half day of work which starts at 11:30. I got to the doctors around 12 and they were still waiting to see Dr. Halpenny. He said she looks good and told us we can feed her cereal up to 3 times a day. She was very active why he was trying to examine her. Hailey even tried to chew on his hand while he was listening to her heart. Before we could leave, the nurse came in and gave Hailey 4 shots. I held her this time and it wasn't as bad as the last time. She cried for a little while, took a bottle, and then napped on the way home. Here is a picture of Hailey waiting to see the doctor. We finally got put in a different room.

Hailey reading with cousin Grant

Hailey turned 4 months old on Saturday and her cousin Ed turned 50. We drove down to Volente, TX on Lake Travis to celebrate. This has been a busy month for Miss Hailey. I was off for a week for spring break; Aunt Michelle, Uncle Kevin and cousin Grant came to visit twice; and Grandma and Grandpa BunnyEars came to visit.

Hailey loves her cousin Grant. She likes when he reads to her and when he plays with his legos and she can watch. Hailey really likes when her Aunt Michelle sings her songs.

Over spring break I got to spend the whole week with Hailey. We sang songs, read books, and did tummy time. Johanna, Camden, and Grayden came over to visit. Hailey had been trying to roll over from her back to her tummy for some time. I was really hoping she would do it while I was home to see. She waited all week, and then on Sunday, March 21st, she finally rolled over.

Grandma and Grandpa BunnyEars came to visit on Wednesday, March 24th. We were very excited because Hailey got rice cereal for the first time with Grandma. On Friday, we took a trip down to Lake Travis to have a mini family reunion and to help celebrate cousin Ed's birthday. Hailey got to meet her 3rd cousins Ed and Ron and her Great Great Aunt Esther and Uncle Erwin. We also got to eat at The Oasis Restaurant. Hailey was very well behaved and we enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake.

3 Months Old!

Hailey's snowman.

The family of snowmen Matt and I made.

Hailey took her first long trip to Tyler on February 6th. We went to visit Aunt Michelle, Uncle Kevin and Grant. She slept the whole way there. We even had the opportunity to go to the Jalapeno Tree for lunch and Hailey slept the whole time again. She is such a good little traveler. We were looking at some old pictures and Hailey definitely looks like her Aunt Michelle and cousin Grant.

I haven't seen so much snow in a long time. It snowed all day on February 11th and we ended up with a total of 7 inches. Matt and I went outside during Hailey's nap and made a family of snowmen.

Hailey is getting really good at holding up her little head and now she can roll over from her tummy to her back. She is still trying really hard to roll over from her back to her tummy. Maybe she will be able to do it next month. She seems to enjoy doing tummy time some mornings with her daddy.

Matt is beginning to enjoy being home with her since she is able in interact with him more. I am able to get in a feeding before I leave for work in the morning. I love coming home in the afternoon to lots of smiles from her. Her teeth seem to be bothering her still. She now chews on her hands and drools. This month she also held her bottle for the first time. She doesn't get many opportunities to do this because I usually swaddle her before she eats.

Hailey is still taking 2 naps during the day. She is a better napper for mommy. Each nap usually lasts for 2 to 3 hours. We enjoy taking a bath now at night. I took the infant sling out of her little tub and now she goes all the way into the water. She likes being in the water and splashing. I will have to buy her a little pool this summer.

2 Month Check Up

Hailey went to the doctor for her 2 month check up yesterday. She now weighs 9 pounds 9 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches long. We were at the doctor's office for about 2 hours and then before we left she got six vaccinations. My poor baby got five shots, 2 in each leg and 1 in the arm; she also had to drink one. It didn't take her long to calm down and take her afternoon nap. I am so glad Matt was there to hold her down; I don't know if I could have done it. Here is a picture of Hailey waiting.

At Emily's birthday party with Grayden and Camden.

I can't believe Hailey is 2 months old today. This month she went to her friend Emily's birthday party. Hailey also met her friends Molly, Camden, and Grayden. I went back to work this month and Hailey is getting use to being home everyday with her daddy.

This month we started a bedtime routine. At 6:45 we wash up for bed, then at 7 she eats. At 7:30 we read 3 stories, Guess How Much I Love You, Little Brown Bear Loses His Clothes (my mom use to read this to me), and Good Night My Angel by Billy Joel. She is usually in bed by 8. She will then get up around 12 for a bottle and Matt stays up for this feeding. Her next feeding is between 3 and 4 am. I take this one and when it happens to be at 3:30 am, I really feel it at work the next day. Today was the third morning she go up at 3:30, and one of my students stood at my desk and told me I looked tired.

Hailey is lucky her Aunt Michelle, Uncle Kevin, and Cousin Grant live in Tyler. They have been visiting every couple of weeks. We even took a family picture during one of the visits. Hailey's friends Camden and Grayden came over to visit her too.

Hailey does tummy time with her daddy every day and her neck muscles are getting stronger and stronger. I can hold her up on my shoulder and she can hold her head up for a little bit. She smiles all the time now and will coo at me when I get home from work and sometimes in the morning before I leave.

We have our next doctors appointment on February 9th, so look for a post around that time. It will be her 2 month vaccination visit.
